About Us

Established in 1982, ASIS&T Taipei Chapter is one of the earliest regional chapter outside of North America. In the subsequent year, ASIS Taipei Area Student Chapter was also established, composed mainly of graduate students from National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University, which received the best student chapter award in 1988. Under the auspices of Harris B. H. Seng (沈寶環), Lucy Tee-Chu Lee (李德竹), James S. C. Hu (胡述兆), and Margaret Fung (張鼎鍾), pioneers in information science in Taiwan, Taipei chapter has played a crucial role in facilitating local participation in the international information science community.
Today Taipei Chapter continues to promote the exchange of ideas among professionals, graduate students and researchers in the field of information science and technology and to facilitate international networking and collaboration.
